## **About the Opportunity**

UNICEF Nigeria supports the adaptation, domestication, and validation of the national Nutrition Social and Behaviour Change (SBC) Strategy for Borno and Yobe States. The assignment focuses on translating national nutrition priorities into practical, context-specific strategies that respond to the unique social, cultural, and humanitarian realities of these states, where malnutrition remains a critical public health challenge.

The consultant will work closely with government ministries, local authorities, development partners, and community stakeholders to ensure the Nutrition SBC Strategy is locally relevant, evidence-based, and fully owned by state actors. A key part of the work involves facilitating inclusive stakeholder consultations and validation workshops that integrate local insights, cultural norms, and lessons from ongoing nutrition and health interventions.

The final deliverables include state-specific, validated Nutrition SBC Strategies for Borno and Yobe, along with implementation frameworks, priority behaviour changes, monitoring and evaluation plans, and coordination mechanisms. The role contributes directly to strengthening nutrition programming, improving coordination among stakeholders, and supporting sustainable, community-driven nutrition outcomes in Northeast Nigeria.

## **Eligibility**

* Advanced degree in Nutrition, Public Health, Food Security, or related field
* Minimum 8 years experience in nutrition policy, programming, or research
* Experience in health, food security, or multisectoral programmes (MNCHW, IYCF, HIV/AIDS)
* Strong analytical, planning, and coordination skills
* Experience in humanitarian or Northeast Nigeria context is an advantage
* Fluency in English required
