The Sawa Project empowers young leaders to improve mental health access and reduce stigma by providing leadership training, advocacy support, and seed funding to develop educational programs, awareness campaigns, and outreach initiatives.
This is a call for applications for the Young Leaders Conference on Mental Health in Eastern Africa! 🌍🧠 It's open to young mental health professionals (25-35 years old) from Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, Somalia, Tanzania, or Uganda.
Conference details
\* The conference is a 3-day event in Nairobi, Kenya, from September 3rd to 5th, 2025. 🇰🇪
\* It's a chance to connect with other mental health professionals, learn from experts, and get involved in projects to reduce mental health stigma and improve access to services. 🤝
\* The application deadline is April 30th, 2025. 🗓
\* You'll need to write essays about your experience in mental health, your motivation, and your vision for a mental health initiative. ✍
\* You'll also need to submit a resume and sign a liability waiver. 📑
\* There are virtual meetings and webinars leading up to and after the conference. 💻
\* The project theme is reducing mental health stigma and increasing access to services in Eastern Africa. ✊
